Serve hot food to pregnant: CM
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday said that hot food should be served door-to-door to pregnant mothers and children of 3 to 6 years.
He further called for continuing distribution of ready-to-eat to eligible beneficiaries of all categories in such districts where Anganwadi and Mini Anganwadi centres have been closed due to a surge in Covid-19 infection.
According to the guidelines issued by the government keeping in view of the Covid surge, the closure of Anganwadi and Mini Anganwadi centres including schools and colleges were ordered in districts having more than 4 percent positivity rate.
A circular has been issued to this effect to all Collectors, Divisional Commissioners, District Programme Officers, District Women and Child Development Officers and Child Development Project Officers, an official communication said.
The circular states that under the Chief Minister’s Nutrition Campaign (Mukhyamantri Suposhan Yojana), the distribution of hot food and nutritional items will remain the same as per the prescribed menu at the district level.
Public programmes like ‘Suposhan Choupal’ and group meetings will be discontinued. The health and nutrition education through home visits and Primary Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) activities under the awareness campaign will continue.
The officials have been asked to monitor the growth of children keeping in mind the Covid protocol. The regular vaccination and health check-up of children and women should be done.
