In a unique programme organised at an art gallery in Jagdalpur on Monday, a transgender presented a ramp walk in a traditional dress of Bastar tribals.
The programme was jointly organised by the Social Welfare Department and Chetna Foundation to create awareness and generate positive environment for the transgender community.
It provided an opportunity to the transgender to mix up with the mainstream.
The transgender enthusiastically took part in ramp walk wearing traditional ornaments and dresses of ‘Kalagudi’ which depict Bastar’s culture.
Members of the third gender from Kanker, Bastar and Kondagaon took part in the event.
