Trial Run for Paddy Procurement to Begin from Oct 26th

RAIPUR: The paddy procurement drive scheduled to begin form November 1st, the state foundation day will have a trial run from October 26 to 28th at all cooperatives societies, an CG govt official said on Monday. The Baghel adminration will begin procurement of paddy from November 1st and conclude on January 31st next year.
Preparations are in full swing to start the procurement of paddy from farmers. So far over 25 lakh are said to have regered out of which 95,000 are said to be new regrations which would sell their produce at the designated centers.
This year the state adminration has decided to procure about 110 LMT of paddy at the MSP in the ongoing Kharif Marketing season. For the procurement of the said amount of paddy around 5.50 lakh bundles of jute gunny bags will be required. Teams of revenue, food cooperative and forest department have been constituted at the drict level to check illegal flow of paddy from neighborhood states.
Last year the state had procured 98 LMT of paddy from cultivators in the state.
