With Covid easing, development will be speeded up: CM Baghel
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Wednesday that development works will be completed rapidly now that the Covid-19 situation in the state is improving rapidly.
The infection rate has come down to around 5 percent, signalling the start of normal work, he said at a programme held at his residence-cum-office.
He said the campaign to build a Nava Chhattisgarh was affected for a while due to the Corona crisis but quickly added that the administration’s resolve has not been derailed.
“Due to the loss of time due to Corona, we will complete development works by increasing the pace.”
The Chief Minister spoke after the virtual bhumi pujan and dedication of various works costing about Rs 114 crores in the Municipal Corporation areas of Bhilai, Durg and Bhilai-Charauda in Durg district. He said there was a time when the rate of infection in Durg district had reached 30 percent. It was now down by 3 percent.
He praised the district administration, public representatives, social organizations, Mitannins, sanitation workers and medical staff for doing commendable work.
The Transport Nagar in Bhilai-Charoda Municipal Corporation is to be built at a cost of Rs 56.21 crores. The Gaurav Path in the same area will costs Rs 16.19 crores.
Baghel inaugurated 22 works in Municipal Corporation Bhilai and performed Bhumi Pujan of 172 works.
