Woman Naxalite and BSF Jawan Injured in an Encounter in CGs Kanker
KANKER: A woman naxalite sustained serious injuries following a gun battle in CGs Kanker said police officials on Saturday. In the same battle a security personnel was also injured the official added.
A fierce encounter broke out between the Border Security Force (BSF) and the naxals in the forests of Urpanjhur village during a combing operation launched a joint team of BSF’s 178th battalion and Kanker police from Mendra camp under Pratappur police station limits on Friday night towards Markachua village. During the search operation a single shot gun was recovered from the possession of the naxalite.
The injured jawan has been identified as BSF constable Vikas Singh who sustained minor injuries and was treated at a the medical set up in the camp itself. Meanwhile, the injured Naxalite was arrested and shifted to a hospital for treatment. A member of RKB division of Maos, Fagni is the wife of Vinod, Madanwada Local Organisation Squad (LOS) commander of Maos.
