Yogi flags off Biking Queen team from Lko

hief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday flagged off a three-member Biking Queen team which will cover a distance of 25,000 kilometres across 25 countries in three continents on bikes with the aim of making women aware of their rights.

Biking Queen team leader Sarika Mehta of Surat (Gujarat) along with her two partners Jinal Shah and Rutauli Patel, had earlier visited more than 10 countries on their bikes and criss-crossed most parts of India in 2017.

The Chief Minister congratulated the team for its achievement and hoped that the team members would highlight the problems being faced by women in different countries and make them aware of their rights.

“The Narendra Modi government has launched several programmes and schemes for the uplift of women and their empowerment in the country through Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and other schemes,” Yogi said.

The team will visit Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Laos, China, Russia, Poland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Spain and several other countries before ending its journey in the United Kingdom in the next three months.

“The programme schedule of the team said that the riders would hoist the tricolour at Barcelona in Spain on August 15.
