UP govt committed to empowering women, their dignity: CM
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said here on Monday that his government was committed to ensuring the empowerment, dignity and safety of women and therefore it had given thrust to pro-women, pro-rural and pro-poor initiatives in the state.
In his congratulatory message to women on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the chief minister said that they were the architect of society.
“She establishes the institution of family, builds home, brings up children and makes them good citizens. Her strength in totality contributes in the making of an ideal family, an ideal society and an ideal state,” he said.
Elaborating on the government schemes, Yogi Adityanath said the Mukhya Mantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana had played a vital role in encouraging the birth of daughters in the state and had successfully ensured the welfare of women.
“The government has not only worked to improve the existing condition of women in the state but has also taken several measures to ensure effective implementation of the women-centric schemes of the government,” he said.
The Kanya Sumangala scheme has been formulated in a way which ensures that parents take proper care of the girl child with respect to her health and education and other aspects as it provides a fund of Rs 15,000 to every family where a girl child is born. The amount is released to the family in a phased manner in installments at the time of birth, vaccination, admission to classes 1, 5, 9 and graduation.
The state government has executed the scheme successfully to achieve its goal of providing a bright future to the daughters of the state. More than 6.53 lakh female students in primary, upper primary, secondary and higher education have availed immediate benefits under this scheme.
In addition to this, the government has successfully reached out to the schools and colleges in all the 75 districts to directly connect the eligible girls to this golden scheme, Deputy Director, Women Welfare, Ashutosh Kumar Singh, said.
