Emphasis on promoting economic activities: CM
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said there exists a favourable environment and pro-policies for industry, trade and commerce in the state. The concept is to encourage economic activities and job creation.
He was addressing the 26th episode of the monthly radio programme ‘Lokvaani’ on the topic ‘Sugam Udyog, Vyapar-Unnat Karobaar’.
Baghel said that under the vision of ‘Nava Chhattisgarh’, pro-industry, business, trade, tourism, consumers and employment opportunities policies have been framed to boost economic activities.
Chhattisgarh stands among the top six states in terms of ‘Ease of Doing Business’. The Industries Department is providing 56 services online through a single window system while 82 services are provided under the e-district system.
Throwing light on achievement, he said the initiatives and decisions are paying off with the strengthening of rural economy and a flourishing industry and commerce sector.
The Industrial Policy 2019-24 has given preference to food, ethanol, electronic, defence, medicine and solar energy based new industries, the service sector, tourism, medical equipment, electronic vehicle charging station, BPO, 3D printing, seed grading and others under Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
In three years, 1,715 new industries have been established with investment of Rs 19,500 crores ensuring employment to 33,000 people.
Apart from it, 149 MoUs have been signed for investment of Rs 74,000 crores to generate jobs to 90,000 people. Eighteen investors have also signed MoUs for investment of Rs 3,300 crore.
The land allotment rules have been simplified for all categories in industrial areas. The Union government’s permission has been sought for production of ethanol from paddy.
