Baghel weighs ration for beneficiary, suspends officer
Commencing the ‘Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan’ on Wednesday from Kusmi village of Balrampur district (Surguja division), Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel distributed ration after weighing it.
A 64-year-old woman blessed him for giving her the ration.
The Chief Minister will conduct the campaign in all the 90 assembly constituencies of the state.
On Wednesday, he inspected the Kusmi police station, a Government Fair Price Shop and the Nagar Panchayat office of Kusmi village and interacted with villagers on day one of the campaign.
During distribution of ration at the Fair Price Shop, Kusmi village resident Shashikala lodged a complaint that her name has been removed from the Below Poverty Line (BPL) list and she does not have a ration card.
She was issued a new ration card immediately.
Based on the complaint, the Chief Minister asked Balrampur Collector Kundan Kumar to suspend Chief Municipal Officer (Nagar Panchayat) S.K. Dubey. The Urban Administration and Development Department issued the suspension order.
He inspected the shop’s stock register and made other inquiries from the beneficiaries regarding the distribution of ration.
A total of 1,246 cardholders are registered under the shop run by Kusmi Forest Committee. The advance stock of rice, sugar, gram and salt for May month has been stored.
Breaking protocol, the Chief Minister got off the car and interacted with people, hearing their grievances.
