CG Health Department Issues Advisory on Monkeypox

Chattisgarh: Days after the central govt directed all states to stay alert on the fast spreading small pox like disease, Monkey pox, the CG govt has begun monitoring across the state.
The State Adminration has directed the Chief Medical Officers in all dricts to be alert and organise awareness programmes locally to apprise the public of the impending danger. At the same time, medicines needed for treatment of Monkeypox are being availed in all drict hospitals as well as private hospitals to enable immediate treatment of patients with symptoms of the deadly virus in the state. Arrangement has been made for free testing andtreatment of patients with symptoms or who suffer from Monkeypox.
So far no cases of the diesease have been detected in the state yet. Authorities at the airports and other ports of entry into the state have been directed to strictly monitor the crowd.
According to WHO, now 131 confirmed cases of monkeypox, and a further 106 suspected cases, in 19 countries have been detected. Experts describe the event as “random” but “containable” and was likely sparked initially sexual activity at recent raves in Spain and Belgium.
