Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath dedicated to people the newly-constructed Lalji Tandon Multipurpose Hall in Chowk Stadium on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the former minister and former Governor of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, Lalji Tandon.

“Lucknow and Lalji Tandon are synonymous with each other. Probably today this is the first programme in which Tandonji is not present physically, but his ideology is still working for us as a guide,” Yogi said in his address.

He said that people of all parties of the state respected Lalji Tandon. “His specialty was that for a lifetime he adhered to the same ideology, values and principles,” he said.

The chief minister said that Lalji Tandon was a repository of knowledge about Lucknow. “He had a holistic view of business, politics, development and social philosophy of Lucknow. He has contributed significantly to the development of Lucknow,” he added.

Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr Dinesh Sharma, Urban Development Minister Ashutosh Tandon, Medical Education Minister Suresh Khanna and Member of Legislative Council Swatantra Dev Singh also expressed their views on the occasion.

Mayor of Lucknow, Samyukta Bhatia, thanked everyone.

The multipurpose hall at Chowk Stadium has been constructed by the Sports Department at a cost of about Rs 12 crore. This multipurpose hall has a seating capacity of 1,000 spectators.
